Summer Solstice Evening in Rockland. Downtown Rockland. A celebration of the Summer Solstice and a kick-off to the summer season. Summer Solstice will take place from 5-9 pm on Main Street in Rockland. This annual event offers fun for the whole family. North Atlantic Blues Festival. Harbor Park, Rockland. July 10-11, Harbor Park, Rockland. The acclaimed Blues Festival features over 15 Blues artists from throughout the U.S. and abroad. 6th Annual Maine Windjammer Parade. Rockland Breakwater, Rockland Harbor. The Maine Windjammer Association will host the 6th annual Maine Windjammer Parade past the Rockland Breakwater on July 16 from 2-4pm. Geared for both spectators on shore and windjammer guests, the event will provide close-up views of the entire fleet as it sails within a stone’s throw of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse. Spectators may view the Parade of Sail from anywhere along the mile-long Breakwater. Immediately following the Parade, many of the windjammers will anchor next to the jetty inside Rockland Harbor for the evening. Participants in the Maine Windjammer Parade will include as many as a dozen traditional sailing ships ranging form the Lewis R. French and Stephen Taber, America’s two oldest working coasting schooners built in 1871, to the Angelique and Heritage, the two newest vessels built specifically for windjamming since the 1980s. Most of the windjammers are turn-of-the-century wooden cargo schooners that have been retrofitted to carry passengers. Sailing form the Camden-Rockland area, these vessels take guests on three- to six-day cruises all season long, from late May to early October. Festivities include tours of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse (contact Friends of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse at 207-542-7574). Friendship Day. Friendship. Friendship Day starts on Saturday, July 31 at 6:30am with a 1-5K foot race (contact Brenda Baird at 207-832-5168) followed with a pancake breakfast. This 27th Annual Event, rain or shine, offers fun for the whole family and benefits the Ambulance Service. Stay for the parade, musical entertainment, children’s activities, field events, contests, craft fair, softball games, Friendship Fire Department fresh lobster rolls, fold/bake sales and the famous Friendship auction. Maine Boats, Homes and Harbors Boat and Home Show. Harbor & Buoy Parks, Rockland. The eighth annual Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors boat and home show will feature boats in the water, boats on land, marine gear vendors, fine furniture and home wares, the arts, architecture, and delicious food. This event is Maine’s only in-the-water boat show, and it is also the only show to feature dozens of Maine’s most talented furniture makers, architects, and builders combined on one spectacular waterfront site. These craftsmen present all the essential components for living the good life on the coast of Maine. There will be hands-on demonstrations, live music, a marine activities area, exhibits, the 3rd annual Zucchini Boat Regatta and, of course, the ever-popular World Championship Boatyard Dog® Trials on Sunday (only pre-entered dogs may compete, see maineboats.com for entry information). Union Fair & State of Maine Blueberry Festival. Union Fairgrounds (off route 17), Union.
Classic, rural fair, one of the oldest in Maine, celebrating all aspects of agriculture, including a wild blueberry festival. Plan to visit the Shore Village Museum, which houses
the largest collection of lighthouse and Coast Guard artifacts

Hiking, biking and Horseback

Hike Camden Hills State Park
in Camden which has 30 miles of trails accessed from five
trailheads. Each of
these hikes take you to breathtaking views of the mid-coast.
Bike along the country lanes and enjoy the quaintness of
Camden and Rockport. Go horseback riding along mountain
trails and watch the sunset. Several local stables offer
guided trail rides, and experience is not necessary for this
adventure! It's a great way to see more of this beautiful
area surrounding our campground.
